UX doesn't start with dashboards – it starts with empathy.

I often find myself with companies whose first words in a meeting are about data. Dashboards, click-through rates, KPIs. Everything measurable. But that's rarely where I find the answers.

Because data tells us what is happening. People tell us why it is happening.

Behind every click hides a moment. A feeling. An expectation. A user who was either met – or lost.

Empathy before evidence

UX is not about finding the right numbers, but the right questions. Before you open Google Analytics, open the conversation. Ask: How does the user feel? What are they trying to achieve? When does doubt arise?

The strongest insights rarely come from data. They come from people sharing an experience you hadn't anticipated. A small frustration, a smile, a comment in passing. That's where UX begins to live.
